Opportunity

Proposal Coordinator’s assist in the overall management and quality of the proposal development process and ensure compliance throughout from start to finish. This involves coordinating the proposal process, coordinating efforts amongst various team members, and managing schedules.  Proposal Coordinator’s review and edit all content and assist various timelines of a proposal to ensure all tasks are completed on time.    

A Proposal Coordinator is critical to the success of leading each phase of proposal development, including:

  • Assessing proposals like government evaluators do
  • Assisting in the creation of effective proposal strategies
  • Assist in the development of compliance checklists
  • Outlining proposals to match government instructions
  • Assigning requirements to appropriate authors for coverage in the proposal
  • Assist in conducting an effective kickoff meeting
  • Leading high-performing proposal teams on fast-paced schedules
  • Drafting an outline based on customer instructions
  • Developing a schedule with critical milestones
  • Assigning tasks to proposal contributors
  • Conducting regular “stand-up” status meetings
  • Assist in organizing proposal pink, red, gold and white glove team reviews
  • Oversee document and version control to ensure consistency throughout all documents
  • Conduct research on potential clients or businesses
  • Oversee production and final proposal submission
  • Incorporating effective graphics and action captions to better communicate messages
  • Organizing proposal content to be persuasive
  • Writing the planned proposal section
  • Examining content for effectiveness and compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience as a proposal writer or coordinator for federal government proposals, including experience with DOD and IC proposals. 
  • Solid track record of assisting with proposals and color team reviews
  • Ability to coach writers and assist in the oversight of all proposal content
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with senior leaders, capture managers, and proposal support teams
  • Has an ownership mentality and accountable for compliance
  • Ability to work and meet tight deadlines
  • Has an understanding of SharePoint, Shipley Proposal Process, and industry best practices
  • In office presence required, some hybrid work is possible
  • Proposal Management training and/or APMP Certification desirable
