Opportunity

IMG is seeking a skilled System Administrator (Linux) to support our customer. Job duties include:

  • Utilize the customer’s standard vulnerability management applications, RSA Archer, Satellite and Tenable Nessus; and drive the system patching process to the goal of remediating system vulnerabilities consistent with VM policy.
  • Develop pre- and post- patching process to ensure proper implementation with minimal outages.
  • Coordinate patch schedule with stakeholders and relevant personnel such as other IT personnel, User Community, and Management. Communicate operational metrics.
  • Assist in developing action plans, schedule, status, and metrics reports as well as other management communications intended to articulate and improve the patch management process.
  • Must be able to think ahead to avoid business outages.
  • Research, evaluate, develop, design, and implement patch remediation designs and standards following best practices.
  • Develop and implement patch and vulnerability remediation process including package creation, testing, and deployment.
  • Perform software installs that adds new features, provide general upgrades, and maintain software support.
  • Perform software updates that address specific bugs and/or vulnerabilities
  • Diagnose and resolve minor hardware and software technical problems
  • Respond to and resolve minor users issues, escalate as needed
  • Communicate software upgrades and/or patching efforts
  • Update documented software management procedures
  • Utilize industry tools to facility software management on Linux
  • Develop and execute remediation plans for software installs and patching

Qualifications

Clearance Required: 

  • DOD Top Secret or DOE Q or higher required prior to consideration

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Previous Information Technology experience, with a strong understanding of the Linux Operating System and Linux command line
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Linux software updates.
  • Demonstrated experience with trouble ticket management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow documented procedures.
  • Comfortable with Linux Command line and shells such as csh and bash and basic scripting.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft and Office products.
  • Experience with YUM and Red Hat package management.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate technical solutions and concepts through verbal and written communications in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Linux+ certification and Hadoop experience is desired, but not required
  • Desired experience:
    • Lakehouse
    • OpenShift
    • Cloudera
    • Denodo / Neo4J / LakeFS

 

Salary range: $100k-$150k
