    IMG is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in library sciences and information resource management. The successful candidate will possess demonstrated capabilities in web page research cataloging and management of electronic resources and hardcopy materials. The role requires solid research and analytical skills with an ability to cross-reference content from multiple sources to create comprehensive, cohesive products.


    IMG – founded in 1987 - provides information visual communication services to the office of corporate communications (OCC) - is seeking a full-time Library Specialist at its Dahlgren, VA location.


    This position requires a Secret clearance. 


    • Maintain online catalogue collections comprised of classified and unclassified material including journals, books, technical reports/specifications, manuals, articles, conference papers, and organizational history documentation.
    • Respond to technical reference requests including researching, reviewing and obtaining artifacts from internal collections and external repositories including coordination with organizations such as the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC), National Archives, and other government/commercial repositories.
    • Develop and maintain archival processes aligned with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for the storage and retrieval of hardcopy and digital materials.
    • Manage the review and identification process for the digitization or deletion of materials in document collections; ensure full compliance with regulatory/policy guidelines in the preparation of documents for disposal.
    • Implement inventory control procedures that effectively maintain an auditable trail of incoming/outgoing material.
    • Analyze, report, and develop corrective action recommendations for identified integrated library system software and hardware issues.
    • Conduct oral interviews and research to document/update organizational history; create organizational history exhibits. 


    • Undergraduate degree in Library Science, Historical Preservation, Humanities, or related analytical field of study.
    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience managing online reference libraries, electronic documentation databases, and hardcopy reference materials.
    • Experience using and maintaining library automation systems (e.g. EOS.Web) and collections archiving applications (e.g. PastPerfect).
    • Familiarity with digital imaging software.
    • Superior interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
    • Capable of performing tasks independently, with minimal supervision, and proactively anticipate emerging requirements.

    Desired Skills/Experience:

    • NARA Federal Records Management certification highly beneficial.
    • Familiarity with the DoD Scientific and Technical Information Program (STIP) and DTIC documentation submission regulations/guidance desired.


    Must possess as Secret clearance.
